Wedding Photographer in Napley | Victoria & Austin’s Shropshire Barn Bash

If you're Googling wedding photographer near me, Shropshire wedding photographer, or looking for a down to earth, fun loving lens wielder from Lancashire, Hiiyyya, I’m Victoria J Photography, and this wedding was one for the books.

Victoria & Austin’s day was the perfect mix of rustic English countryside vibes and international sparkle, all set on a family farm in Napley, near Market Drayton in Shropshire. With an epic golden hour, and sunset, one energetic Dalmatian, and a band that kept the dancefloor bouncing all night, this wedding had it all.

🇬🇧 + 🇺🇸 A Shropshire Wedding With Transatlantic Love

Austin's family crossed the pond from the USA to see the groom marry his Yorkshire rose Victoria in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Their ceremony took place in Napley’s beautiful village church, followed by a celebration at the bride’s family farm.

As a wedding photographer in Shropshire (and proud Lancashire lass), I live for weddings like this chilled out, full of personality, and rooted in the land they love.

Barn Vibes, Family Graft & One Dalmatian Diva

Victoria’s family didn’t just host the wedding, they transformed their barn into a fully-fledged wedding venue. Think twinkly lights, countryside charm, and those thoughtful DIY touches that make a photographer’s heart happy.

Their Dalmatian, Cassie, brought main character energy. She ran barked at the church bells, popped up in the couple shots, and added just the right amount of chaos to the day. She may not have worn a flower crown, but she definitely wore the crown of Most Photogenic Guest.

Food for the Soul – English Style

Food-wise, this wedding was a proper treat. Guests enjoyed a traditional and relaxed pie and peas wedding breakfast, followed by a hog roast in the evening courtesy of The Travelling Pig Event Catering Company – legends. This wasn’t just a meal, it was a feast. The kind you remember years later.

If you're looking for a Market Drayton wedding photographer who appreciates good grub (and knows how to capture it looking mouth-wateringly good), that’s me.

Sunset Portraits That Stopped Time

Just before the light faded, we snuck away to one of the farm’s many gorgeous spots for golden hour portraits. The sky turned that perfect soft gold, the fields were glowing, and Austin and Victoria looked like they’d walked straight out of a countryside romance novel.

Golden hour (or golden shower as a merry groom kept saying) is my happy place, and this one delivered.

Dancefloor Mayhem With The Folksmiths Band

Once the sun went down, the Folksmiths Band cranked up the energy and honestly? The party didn’t stop. These two know how to throw a bash. The dancefloor was never empty, from first dance to final encore, and I’ve got the sweaty, photos to prove it.

Why This Wedding Was So Special

I’ve shot weddings across Lancashire, Shropshire, but this one stuck with me. Not just because of the amazing couple, their super welcoming friends and family who looked after me all day, Cassie the Dalmatian, or the pie (although all three were 10/10), but because it was a celebration of love, family, and graft. Everyone pitched in. Everyone danced. And nobody took themselves too seriously.

That’s the kind of wedding I live for.
