The Wedding Day
The sun really shone for the wedding ceremony of Katy and Steven at Shrigley Hall Hotel & Spa Cheshire, it was a beautiful and emotional day, to be honest it was absolutely boiling I do not know how Katy coped all day in her dress but she soldered on. The couple chose the Cheshire venues Tilden Suite and paired the stunning backdrop of the hotel’s picturesque landscape it was a perfect combination. Bridal preparations where filled with so many belly laughs and lots of flowing prosecco, Katy's bride squad were on amazing form. These girls where the most chilled and hilarious bridal party id ever met. Drinking from the bottle was not an issue for these guys.
Steven and Katy's ceremony was a fun celebration filled with a relaxed vibe and an infectious sense of humour. From the moment the bride preparations began with plenty of flowing prosecco , it was clear that their fun spirits set the tone for the day. Friends and family were treated to an ace atmosphere, where smiles and laughter were in abundant supply. The couple's playful banter and light-hearted exchanges created an wicked atmosphere that made everyone feel at ease and smile all day.
The ceremony began with Steven and Katy's Mothers walking down the aisle. It was a beautiful moment and a really thoughtful way to include both mum's in their special day. The stunning bridesmaids followed then it was time for the big moment. Katy, absolutely stunning in her exquisite gown, which was sooo heavy by the way. She made her entrance alongside her two grown up sons who had done a brilliant job all morning helping their mum get ready even picking off the labels she had left on her shoes, no details where left untouched. The emotions were heightened as Steven looked on, his expression a real emotional moment and he might have shed a couple of tears.
The celebration carried on with canapes and drinks, creating a warm friendly atmosphere amongst guests. Group photographs where done and dusted in no time thanks to the help of my second shooter, this is why its so important to have two photographers for some weddings. It ensure no key moments are missed and helps with wrangling Uncle Jim from the bar for group shots. While most brides and grooms believe that posed group photographs are the highlight of their wedding album, it is often the candid captures that end up being their favourite, they are definitely mine. Candid wedding photographs are spontaneous moments, filled with genuine emotions and unguarded interactions, they tell a more authentic story of the day. The laughter shared between friends, the tearful joy on a parent's face, or the fleeting glances exchanged between the couple become cherished memories that reflect the true happenings of their wedding day. We used the fabulous grounds for couple portraits and myself and the bride & groom even had a golf buggy ride down to the amazing Shrigley Hall waterfall which is situated at the entrance a perfect photograph opportunity. The wedding breakfast unfolded seamlessly, a true testament to meticulous planning by Eamonn the wedding coordinator a true gentleman and a pleasure to be around, he is a real credit to Shrigley Hall. A memorable highlight was Steven’s surprise for Katy: a honeymoon to the Caribbean. He had skilfully managed to keep this a secret from Katy which wasn't an easy task, even coordinating her time off with her boss, who was also a guest and got to see this revealed to Katy.
As evening descended, the reception became a whirlwind of joy, featuring a magician, a lively photo booth, and endless dancing. Cake cutting and of course the first dance surrounded by loved ones. The stunning white LED dance floor was a particular hit, captivating guests and ensuring that it was always bustling with energy, there was some moves thrown that night. Laughter and music filled the air as friends and family celebrated the couple’s special day, making it an unforgettable occasion. One I was truly honoured to be a part of.
